Tuesday, August 21st

  • 5:30-8:30pm: Evening rehearsal

Thursday, August 23rd

  • 5:30-8:30pm: Evening rehearsal
  • Marching shoes distributed after rehearsal

Friday, August 24th

Home Football Game

  • 5:30pm: change into full uniform, remember long black socks
    • Marching shoes will be distributed Thursday after rehearsal
    • Gloves will be distributed on Friday
  • 6pm: Warm-up in front of North Gym
  • 6:50pm: Pre-game on the field
  • 7pm: Game time
  • approx. 8:15pm: Half time
  • approx. 9:30pm: Game over, return to band room, hang uniform and go home

Program Instrument Rental

There are instruments available for rental throughout the year. The string instruments have all been recently refurbished and are ready to go. For Band rentals, please contact Mr. Stone or Mr. Myers. For String rentals, please contact Ms. Munday.

Rental procedure for string instruments:

  1. String instruments will be given out after school on Monday, August 20th at 3:15 p.m. in the band room.
  2. At that time, a check for $200, payable to “LCHS MPA” is due. You will need to hand in the check before you can take the instrument.
  3. If you are renting 2 instruments, the second instrument is $100.

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

What fun to start Orchestra this week greeting familiar faces and welcoming several new students into Orchestra! I felt an overall sense of gladness from the group and a sense of eagerness to get this thing going!

Monday, I will be listening to some students play individually, and Tuesday the whole Orchestra starts playing!

If your student wants/needs to rent an instrument, make sure that you and they sign the instrument rental form that went home with them last week. Bring the form along with a check for $200 payable to “LCHS MPA,” and come get the instrument Monday at 3:15pm in the 7/8 room.

Monday at 7:30pm is a mandatory parent meeting for 9-12 Instrumental Music parents in the band room.

Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

What a great start to the year! All the groups in full swing learning, being musicians, and getting back into the school groove. Come see the Marching Spartans this Friday and see how our show has progressed. The potential of the show this year is amazing and the hard work of all our students is bringing that potential to life.

I look forward to seeing you all at the meetings on Monday night. It’s a great way to start the year with all the information you need and to make connections to the Music Parents Association. The MPA is the group that makes it possible for us to operate at such high levels. It’s a great way to get connected to your community and to the music program. I look forward to seeing all of you there!

7/8 Program Registration

Online Registration

All 7/8 Program parents must complete the online registration for the LCHS Music Parents Association. The contact information collected will be used to share information with you throughout the year, mainly by email. After you complete the registration, you will have the opportunity to donate to the Music Parents Association. Please remember that the District provides only a very small portion of the funds necessary for a program like ours. The Instrumental Music Program relies on parent donations.

Please complete, print, sign, and return the Field Trip form to Mr. Myers. All students must return this form prior to participating in any off-campus activities.

7/8 Instrument Rental

Please contact Mr. Myers if you are interested in renting an instrument from the Instrumental Music Program for your student. There is an instrument rental donation box to check on the online registration form.
