Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

Congratulations to all our performing groups doing an amazing job at Festival this past Friday. You represented our music program and school so well. Also, a big thank you to all the parent volunteers who gave of their time to make the festival a tremendous success. We received so many positive comments about our festival and how enjoyable the experience was. A final, gigantic thank you to all the students who made the festival run so smoothly. You all were such a shining example of professionalism and class throughout the entire day. Thank you for your awesomeness!

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

Friday was a great day! I am super proud of all of the instrumental music students; from playing great to being poised hosts and hostesses for the guest schools, they were amazing! Thank you to the parents who donated food and manned the snack bar!

This week the orchestra will be working as two groups. The students going to the festival in San Diego will continue to play the festival pieces and the others will start working on Concerto Concert music. Next week we will be all together again.

Summer music camps are a great way to continue learning music, getting better on your instrument, and have fun and make life-long memories! Please email me if you have any questions.

I hope everyone has a terrific week!

7/8 Elementary Tour – March 22nd

This Friday, both the 7/8 Band and the 7/8 Orchestra will perform at each of the three elementary sites.

Call time for all 7/8 students will be 7:15am to load instruments and load the bus. We will need parent helpers to ride the bus with the students. If you are available and willing, please let Mr. Myers know.

They will perform at PCR and then PCY. At approximately 11:30am the students will have a pizza lunch in Memorial Park. We would appreciate donations of fruit (cuties, apples, etc.), paper plates, napkins, and cookies. We will also need several parents to help serve the lunch in the park. Please contact Sandy Miller if you are available to help or willing to donate.

After lunch, the students will load the bus and travel to LCE to perform. After the last performance, the students will return to LCHS, unload the bus, and be dismissed for the day.

If you have questions, please contact Mr. Myers.
