Parent Meetings – August 19th

All parents of students in the Instrumental Music Program are asked to attend a Parent meeting on Monday, August 19th.

7/8 Parents will meet at 6:30pm.
9-12 Parents will meet at 7:30pm.

Please plan on attending to find out all the details of the program, information from the Music Parents Association, and to answer any and all questions you may have.

Orchestra Concert Wear

Freshman and new members of the Orchestra will need to be fitted for concert wear. An email will go out prior to this happening.

Please have your student try on the concert wear they have now to see if it still fits, or if they need to replace anything. If you have concert wear that no longer fits, we welcome clean, used dresses, tuxes, vests, ties, etc.

String Instrument Rental

String Instrument Rental

August 15th & 16th

3:15pm

If students would like to rent an instrument for the school year, they may come to pick one out after school at 3:15pm on Thursday and Friday, August 15th and 16th in the 7/8 room.

Payments for instrument rental can be made through the online registration.

If you have used an instrument over the summer, you will also need to come and fill out a form.

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes

Hello again after our summer break! I am looking forward to seeing you and your students again and hearing about your fantastic summer adventures!

We will meet the first day of school, Thursday, August 15th, 0 period, 7:30am. On that day and also the next day, Friday, August 16th, we will not be playing, so no instruments are needed. We will begin playing on Monday, August 19th.

We are going to have a great year with so many fun activities and amazing music! We are the lucky ones at LCHS because we get to start every school day with music! See you very soon!

Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

What a crazy two weeks! The Marching Spartans have been working long hours and are off to an amazing start!

The preview show last Friday was a huge success and gave a taste of this year’s show. It’s going to be one of best. Come to the football games and see how the show is developing.

The Band Room is almost finished. The big reveal is this week and we can finally move back in! Looking forward to see the final look of the new remodel.

Enjoy your last few days of summer and looking forward to our first day of school this Thursday! Have fun and see you soon!

Volunteers Needed: Uniform Fittings

UPDATE: While we will still need volunteers… The dates of the fittings are postponed due to the Band Room not being ready. We will update as soon as we have the new dates.

Uniforms will arrive back on Monday, August 12th.

We will start uniform fittings on Tuesday, August 13th at 3pm for Seniors and Juniors.

Thursday at 3:30pm, we’ll fit Sophomores and Freshmen. We’ll hopefully be moved back to the Band room by then — so keep your fingers crossed.

If you are available to help fit uniforms – it’s easy, no experience or sewing required – but maybe a little ironing… Please let Sandy know via email or at 626-318-9533. The more helpers we have, the quicker the fittings go.

Handbook

  • Please read:  it has all the info and program requirements that you will want to know including grading, performances, and needed donations.
  • Please complete, sign, and return the Handbook Agreement Form.
  • Please put all the dates on your calendar — all the football games, concerts, competitions, etc. are on that list for the 2019-20 school year.

Volunteers Needed

Family BBQ/Preview Night

We will need several helpers to help setup and serve at the Family BBQ on Friday, August 9th. Please contact Nadia Ali, our Special Events Coordinator, and let her know if you can help. Setup time will be at 4pm in front of the North Gym.
