Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

Congratulations to all for coming through this semester so beautifully. I’m so looking forward to hearing our Winter Spectacular Concert tonight – it’s going to be amazing!

I hope everyone has a restful and happy winter break. Thank you for being the best students and parents.

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

Our Winter Concert will be sent out this Friday and I am overwhelmed by what the students have accomplished. You are all a testament to life and keeping on!

You will all do beautifully on your finals and then you can enjoy some well-earned time off after that. Be well❤️

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

As we move into the Holiday Season, I am looking back at our semester online. I am filled with admiration and gratitude for the students. They are showing up and engaging with music and school as it is. Their resilience and steadfastness in the face of disruption to their lives makes me super proud of them. They are heroes! Thank you, parents, for caring and watching out for them. You are heroes, too!

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

Yes, it is almost December in our new world! I hope that everyone had a great holiday break and is looking forward to completing this first semester with some beautiful music from our middle school and high school musicians. Music is such a part of holiday celebration and we are blessed to have wonderful musicians who are keeping the music fires burning. Have a beautiful first week of December!

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

It isn’t too early to think of Christmas coming and getting some beautiful poinsettia plants for yourself. They are a great price for what large and beautiful plants they are, plus they last throughput the whole season. I always get several and now my friends buy them too. It really helps out the Instrumental Music program in a very nice way. Thank you, in advance, for supporting our program in this way!

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

We have our very first virtual orchestra video out this week! I hope you’ll get a chance to listen.

We are working on some new music now for our Winter Spectacular recording. Thank you all for your continuing support! Have a wonderful week.

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

Congratulations to the Band on their wonderful Halloween video! I howled.?

This Friday, look for the Song of Storms Orchestra video to drop on LCPlay+. It is our first video and I hope that everyone will enjoy it!

Have a wonderful week!

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

The Orchestra is working hard and recording music!

Sadly, our Fall concert will not be happening, as scheduled, this week.

The chamber music with small groups is going really well and is a wonderful learning experience for the students, and is turning into a long term project – which is amazing in an educational sense – and I really want the students to get the maximum out of this experience.

We are now in the editing process of our first recording of the Orchestra, Song of Storms, from the video game, “The Legend of Zelda.” The students chose the music, learned and recorded it, and now Henry Thuss from the Band is editing it for us. I can’t wait to see and hear it! We will share the link as soon as it is ready to go.

Have a great week!

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

Monday, we are beginning the second quarter of the school year, and as of last Friday, I found out that Orchestra is eligible to go into cohorts of up to 12 students with one coach and practice chamber music! This is a really exciting development and we will be talking more about it very soon!

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

Music is so great! We can listen to it, we can learn it, we can play it, we can sing it, we can even hum or whistle it. We can write it, we can dance to it. It can be super simple or super complex. It can be old or new. It can be just for us or it can be given to others.

It’s wonderful that our students get to experience music in their own ways.

May you have lots of music in your week❤️
