Winter Guard – Dayton Trip Meeting

After the Friends & Family show on Thursday, we will have a brief parent meeting regarding the Dayton trip. (We leave one week from Tuesday!)

We’ll have all the info for you, so please be there.

We fly out of LAX and were thinking a carpool would be a good idea. Check your calendars now to see if you can volunteer to either drop off at LAX on Tuesday, April 2nd (flight departs at 10:25am) or pick up at LAX on Sunday, April 7th (flight lands at 1:45pm). Let’s discuss on Thursday.

Thanks!

Friends & Family Show – Thursday!

Winter Friends & Family Show
Thursday, March 28th
7:30pm – South Gym

This Thursday is our Friends & Family Show. The 7/8 Winter Drumline, 9-12 Winter Drumline, and Winter Guard will perform their shows!

Please invite everyone you know… This is our only “home” performance and your students have really worked hard to put these shows together! Please have your students invite their teachers… Many staff at the high school have no idea what a Winter Guard or Winter Drumline show is – This is a great time to let them know!

These are full performances in full attire… just as in a competition. There is a possibility that snacks may be served following the performances…

Hope to see you there!

Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

Congratulations to all our active groups this past week!

A huge trophy was brought home by our Orchestra from a festival in San Diego for what we all knew already, that we have the best orchestra around.

Color Guard performed beautifully in their last competition before heading to Dayton and World Championships.

Our Marching Band helped dedicate the new City Hall this past week with great music to add to this meaningful community event.

In all these events, the students, staff, and parents of our Instrumental Music Program stepped up and represented La Cañada fantastically to all who attended. It makes me proud that we have such an amazing program of amazing people. Thank you all for your help and support at each of these events.

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

Congratulations, Orchestra, on a wonderful weekend in San Diego! At every juncture of the weekend you performed and behaved like ladies and gentlemen, and I am incredibly proud of you!

A million trillion thanks to Yvonne Lim, chaperone extraordinaire!

All I can say is thank you to students, parents, and my colleagues. You all are the best!

Drumline & Color Guard – Payments Due

Just a friendly reminder that all payments for 7/8 Drumline ($50), 9-12 Winter Drumline ($500), and Winter Guard ($600 season & $1300 Dayton trip) are now due.

Please make checks payable to “LCHS MPA” and put in an envelope marked with your student’s name and group, and placed in the black locked box in the band room.

The Boosters fundraising money has now been deposited in the students’ accounts. Please contact Marshall Bohannon if you would like to use the funds in your student’s account.

Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

Congratulations to all our performing groups doing an amazing job at Festival this past Friday. You represented our music program and school so well. Also, a big thank you to all the parent volunteers who gave of their time to make the festival a tremendous success. We received so many positive comments about our festival and how enjoyable the experience was. A final, gigantic thank you to all the students who made the festival run so smoothly. You all were such a shining example of professionalism and class throughout the entire day. Thank you for your awesomeness!
