I have a new treat! It’s at Starbucks and it’s a pumpkin creme cold brew. I’m looking forward to pumpkins, cooler weather, and of course, making music with all of the students! Everyone is off to a great start! Happy Fall!
Progress is a wonderful thing. Watching students develop new skills and master old ones, and then in return help the next generation of students learn, is one of my favorite parts of my job. I always enjoy the performance, but I truly enjoy each step of the way and seeing the progress we are making. It lets us all know that with hard work and the right information, we can all accomplish great things.
Have a great week and make progress towards achieving great things!
This year we will be offering a 7/8 Color Guard! If you know of a 7/8 student who is interested, please invite them! They don’t have to be a current member of any of our groups, so bring a friend!
All students (boys and girls) interested will meet from 3:30pm to 4:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We’ll gather in the band room and move to a practice location.
Any questions? Please contact Mr. Stone.(jstone@lcusd.net)

Fun is a good thing, right? I’ve noticed that when I’ve performed in a concert that I felt good about, I describe it as having been fun! Sometimes, I think fun gets a bad rap, like it’s not serious enough, or it’s not deep enough. When I was younger, a part of me thought that could be true, but I noticed that I still felt that good concerts were “fun.”
Now, I am all-in with fun! I believe this is what Mary Poppins was telling us when she sang, “a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down.” Music is fun! This week, I hope that we all find the fun in our daily lives!
All new 9-12 Band students will need Concert Wear for the Winter Spectacular in December and all of second semester.
Now is the time to try on last year’s concert wear to see if it fits! All freshmen were fitted last week.
If your tux or dress does not fit, please bring it in and we can do an exchange for a different size. The deadline to do this is Tuesday, September 17th.
If you have questions, please contact Dino Lorenzana.
