We are looking forward to a really fun week! This Friday, November 2nd, the orchestra will spend the whole day playing at the three elementary schools in the district. It’s always a good time for everyone – the elementary students love to hear some of their favorite songs played by older students, and the high school kids love playing them! We need a few parents to volunteer to spend the day with us. I encourage you to come! Please contact Yvonne Lim.
We are going to continue our tradition of the Halloween Breakfast! It will be Halloween morning during 0 period. See this post for the help we need.

This week our Poinsettia Sales have begun! This is another great fundraiser to benefit your student’s account. $4 from each plant sold goes straight to your student’s account.
Plants are $12 each. Orders are due on November 16!
Hard work and detailing is the name of the game for musicians. An easy looking performance is backed by hours of hard work as an ensemble and more hours as individuals. Details equal emotional reaction by an audience (and performer… it’s why we play as much as we can!) and details come through the constant focus and attention musicians put into their craft each and every rehearsal, practice session, or performance.
As we go through the year, from performance to performance, enjoy the fruits of these fine student musicians’ hard work and attention to details. Not only does it make amazing performances, it makes amazing students.
The 9-12 Orchestra will tour all three elementary sites on Friday, November 2nd.
We are looking for several parents to ride the bus with the students. If you are interested, please contact Yvonne Lim.
We will depart LCHS at 7:30am and return at approximately 3pm. We will have lunch in Montrose. It’s a great day and it’s so fun to observe the high school students and the elementary students be excited about music!
The deadline to book has been extended to Friday, October 26th!

We will need about 10 chaperones and 4 bus riders for our trip.
If you are interested in riding the bus or being a chaperone, please call and reserve one of the rooms using your credit card. The rooms are a king bed with a pull-out sofa and the rate is $100/night.
Please note that these rooms will only be held until Friday, October 26th!
There are about 15 rooms available, first come, first served. Please remember that if you book one of these rooms, we will assume that you will be available for helping out at the competition and in doing room checks after the competition Saturday night – it’ll be late – and we’re hoping we will perform on Sunday too!
