Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

I can’t believe we are finally in the last week of school for the semester! It seems like it was only the end of July and we were trying to figure out how this semester was going to be, and here we are, survived and thriving.

Thank you all for the awesome effort on the poinsettia sales! We did amazing even in our distant situation.

This Friday, we will be premiering our Winter Spectacular. I am very excited for the show and very thankful for the crew of students who helped finalize all the video and audio for the concert. The amount of work that it takes after the individual recordings have been sent is staggering, and I couldn’t have done it without that crew! It’s going to be a spectacular event and I look forward to seeing you all there! Have a great week and an even better two week breather!

Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

Welcome back! I hope you all had a great week off from the computer and Zoom meetings! These next three weeks are usually busy with winter activities and concerts and tons of fun music. While we can’t do this all in person, we still have a ton of music to share and perform over these next few weeks. Look for our release of the Winter Spectacular later this month and see the wonderful work our students are still doing. Have a great week!

Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

Just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

I am truly thankful for the great kids, parents, and staff that I get to work alongside off each and every day. Thank you all. I am even more thankful for the time I have been gifted through COVID, to hang with my family more during a Marching Season. It has truly been a blessing for our family and my mental health! Truly thankful for the little gifts in strange places! Have a great week!

Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

It’s been a bit of a wild ride this year and it’s looking like we are heading into the last four weeks of school for 2020 (next week and three after Thanksgiving break) with a lot of projects to finish and premiere. Look for our virtual performance videos in the next few weeks and for our entire Winter Spectacular Concert (date TBD). Our music students have been working extremely hard to get you the best music possible. Thank you students for all your hard work! Looking to another fun week of music!

Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

First week of quarter two complete and we are working hard to finish up our marching season and we begin to transition into our concert season.

Lots of great music opportunities going on for the students to engage in and find something worthwhile to do during this challenging time. I know I have hit a few distance learning walls during this time, and being able to step up to a music project or even a home project around the house has made a huge difference in breaking down those walls. Students, choose to engage! It’s so easy to choose not to engage, but you’ll be so glad you when you are in the midst of a music project, or any project, and your happy meter soars!

Have a great week and be musical!

Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

As we finish up September and move into October, I am thankful for all the hard work that has been going on for these opening six weeks. Lots of good practicing, moving, and connecting have been happening, and I am hoping that we all see the fruit of our work blossoming. Keep up the great work, focus, and fun! Keep being better musicians and people! Keep enjoying each day! Have a great week!

Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

Thank you all for a great week and for a wonderful back to school night. It was good to see you all! Lots of great work happening with our students as we work to learn new music and movement for our Virtual Marching show as well as some new music for future small projects.

Thank you all for your hard work and patience as we continue to grow and make music. Have a great week! Stay safe!

Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

Thank you all for a great opening to school in the most unusual opening I’ve been a part of. The music is being played, musicianship is building, and our music community is growing.

It was great to see all the parents turn out on Wednesday night. MPA is the best community group you could be apart of during your time at LCHS, from 7-12 grade. Thank you all for continuing that great community and the support it gives our program and all its members.

Hope you have a great long weekend and stay cool in this insane heat! Good thing we aren’t at an outdoor event this weekend!
