Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

As we push into Band Student Leadership week, I wanted to say thank you to our current Senior Leadership and encourage our underclassmen to step up and make a difference in your band experience.

Leadership is not a line item on a college application, it is a stamp of oneself upon the music program through service and modeling the behavior and image we want for our program. Student leaders lead on and off the field and make the year’s many needs, obstacles, and challenges possible and successful for all. Thank you all for your service and support this year and years to come!

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

I invite all parents, relatives, and friends of the Orchestra to come out this Wednesday night, May 2nd, 7pm in the LCHS auditorium to hear the Orchestra’s very last concert of the year. There are eight amazing student soloists and an equally amazing and dedicated Orchestra backing them up. You won’t want to miss this inspiring performance!

Orchestra Photos Needed

Ellie Lim’s mom, Yvonne Lim, is working on a Photo Book for the 9-12 Orchestra but she is in need of more pictures. If you have pictures from the Halloween Breakfast on October 26, 2017, Disney California Adventure on January 24, 2018, the Annual Dinner Show on February 24, 2018, or Festival Competition Day, March 9, 2018, please send them to limy@pacbell.net or text them to 626-675-4681. Please ask your students for pictures from their smartphones as well.

If you would like to purchase a book and haven’t yet signed up to do so, please send an email to Yvonne Lim to let her know.

Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

I’m taking over Mr. Stone’s thought this week… I’m hoping he’s already sleeping by now!

On behalf of Mr. Stone, many thanks to all the parents who helped out in some way over these past couple of weeks and months – all the planning, helpers, food donations and servers – it is all so very appreciated! There is no way this program would survive and have such great successes without you! Your kids are so very talented and they continue to strive for new levels. So proud and happy for them!

Thank you for your support of Instrumental Music at LCHS!

-Sandy

Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

Club LC was amazing once again! The night is my favorite night of music and community. It’s a blast and everyone who was there felt the power of great music. There is more great music to come with the musical this week and Concerto Concert coming in a few weeks. Come out and see these great musicians and performers.

Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

As we hurtle towards the end of this school year, thoughts of summer arise. During summer, our students have the opportunity to go to a summer music camp.

For many musicians, summer music camp was a place that solidified musical intentions, beyond just being lots of fun. If you and/or your student is looking for something fun and meaningful to do this summer, please consider a music camp!

Let’s Feed the Pit Orchestra during Rehearsal Week!

27 of our instrumental music students (from both Band and Orchestra) will be performing as part of the pit orchestra for Les Mis. These students are rehearsing every night this week from right after school until late – sometimes 11pm. So… the kids need to eat!

If you are interested in donating food items, paper products, or money to feed the kids, click on the link!

Club LC

Tickets are still available – but only today!

Club LC is an enjoyable evening of instrumental and vocal jazz for listening and dancing. The event combines Big Band instrumentals by the LCHS Jazz Band with a variety of vocal standards performed by several of the Chamber Singers for a memorable musical evening.

Volunteers
