Ms. Munday’s News & Notes…

Please join us for Awards Night on Tuesday at 7pm in the LCHS Auditorium. We will recognize the participating students in each grade level and present grade-level awards. It’s a fun evening to enjoy all the students, honor the seniors, and acknowledge the successful year that we have had. See you there!

Mr. Stone’s Thought of the Week…

Tuesday night is our awards and final, official, public goodbyes to our Seniors. It’s always great to see them grow up and become amazing young adults, but also sad to see them go. Good luck, Seniors, in your next adventure in life. Keep pressing forward, but always remember where you were. See you all on Tuesday!

Summer Fun…

Can you believe it? It’s time to make summer plans already! Here are a few ideas…

Drum Corps at the Rose BowlLast Day to Order Tickets is May 16th!
Held on Saturday, June 30th at the Rose Bowl. This is a fun evening of watching some of the top Drum Corps. DCI is “marching music’s major league” and they take marching band to a whole new level.

This year, our visual tech for marching season, Brenden Yee, will be marching with Pacific Crest, and LCHS alum, Matt Miller, will be marching his fourth year with Mandarins. Also performing will be the Cadets, Blue Devils (2017 champs), Blue Knights, Vanguard and Academy. It will be a great show!

We will be ordering group tickets for all LC students, parents, alumni, friends, etc. They are only $20 each. If you are interested, please let Sandy know.

If you have never been to a DCI show before, click to view the Mandarins’ 2017 show, Inside the Ink.

Mr. Stone’s Message of the Week…

Student Leadership is by far the backbone of the Marching Band and the Instrumental Music Program. Without them the groups get stuck. Student leaders are there to import the traditions, skills, and mindset to all the members which leads to tremendous personal growth for the leaders as well. It is important that we all understand that leaders are built, trained and educated continuously. Each success and failure brings growth and enlightenment. It is important to remember that we all need to support our student leaders, present and future, so that we all can be successful.

This Friday, we have a great workshop coming into our band room. Everyone should come and take advantage of this opportunity to grow and be built into a better leader.
